Successes for ABO Energy in Germany's Wind Tender

(Wiesbaden, 21 September 2026) ABO Energy once again won tariffs in the August tender conducted by the German Federal Network Agency. The company was awarded tariffs for three wind energy projects with a total capacity of 102.2 megawatts. The Federal Network Agency awarded a total of 237 contracts with a combined capacity of approximately 2.5 gigawatts.

The successful projects include the Bentheim Süd Wind Farm in Lower Saxony (7 x Siemens Gamesa SG 7.0-170, 6.6 MW each), the Rhein-Mosel Wind Farm in Rhineland-Palatinate (4 x Siemens Gamesa SG 7.0-170, 7 MW each), and the Losheim Repowering Wind Farm in Saarland (4 x Nordex N163, 7 MW each). Commissioning of the wind farms is scheduled between mid-2028 and early 2029.

Progress in German Projects

ABO Energy also made progress with other German wind projects. Most recently, the company sold the project rights for the Dittelsheim-Heßloch 2 Wind Farm in Rhineland-Palatinate to Vattenfall. The six wind turbines with a total capacity of approximately 43 megawatts represent an extension of an existing intermunicipal ABO Energy wind farm comprising 17 turbines commissioned between 2012 and 2014. Furthermore, ABO Energy recently sold the project rights for a permitted 28-megawatt wind farm in northern Hesse.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, ABO Energy sold the project rights for the Olpe Rehringhausen Wind Farm to Perigus Energy. The project comprises three wind turbines with a total capacity of 21 megawatts. Additionally, ABO Energy sold the Heimbach-Vlatten Repowering Project, which is currently under construction in North Rhine-Westphalia, to Blue Elephant Energy (BEE). The two wind turbines, with a combined capacity of 12 megawatts, replace three older turbines rated at 600 kW each. BEE also acquired the Ortenberg wind farm in Hesse, a three-turbine project currently under construction.

Trianel Erneuerbare Energien, which operates the Dreieck Spreeau Wind Farm in Brandenburg, built by ABO Energy in 2021 and currently consisting of eight turbines, recently also acquired the approved extension consisting of three additional turbines.
