Why Co-location?

Overview

The Meenakeeran wind farm and battery energy storage project is using an approach called ‘co-location’ of generation and storage on the same site. This means when demand is high, electricity can be produced by the wind farm and fed directly to the grid, and when demand is low it can be stored onsite before being released to the grid when required.
